Halloween

Superman Spencer!

Kayla the Jaguar and Speed Racer Brayden.
This year our kids got pretty sick and didn't really have a great Halloween, but luckily we carved pumpkins Monday and went to the church for a trunk or treat on Wednesday. We had about a dozen German trick or treaters which was fun. Even with our kids getting sick, we still have too much candy!

Dinner in a pumpkin.

This year I went to a cooking club where we carved out our pumpkins and put a face on them. I then went home and made dinner in our pumpkin. We ate the meat and rice combo as our main course and ate some pumpkin as our vegetable. The kids loved looking at the pumpkin in the oven. They were able to look at it for quite some time since it took ~2 hours to cook.

Cave in Belgium

We went with some friend to a cave near Liege, Belgium. This cave boasts the longest underground river, so we hiked into the cave which follows the river for about 40 minutes and then we got in a boat (that rocked and dipped pretty drastically) as a guide in the front of the boat pushed the boat using the walls of the cave and a wooden paddle in sort of gondola style.
Our family outside the cave.

The kids - it was great going with friends. Our kids had a great time.

Fire Truck Parade and Poster Contest

In honor of Fire Prevention week, the base hosts a Fire Truck Parade where the firemen throw out candy from the German and American trucks.

Kayla won 3rd place in the poster contest for her grade. She got a t-shirt and gift card for $15.
