Yummy Construction

These houses were built tough - the kids can hold them in their hands. They were built yummy too!

Our family nativity with Spencer as Joseph, me as Mary, a doll for baby Jesus and Eeyore the donkey that travels to Bethlehem, except I'm pretty sure Joseph rode the donkey in our version.

The Shepard is scared when the angel appears, so Kayla says fear not to Brayden.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Our eggnog Christmas Eve tradition - we all (carefully) drink a cup of eggnog, and in one of the cups there is a ring. The person that gets the ring is the king/queen of Christmas and gets to wear a crown and open their 1 Christmas Eve present first.

The kids were able to shop for each other at the school's holiday store, and Kayla was so excited that Brayden wanted to open the gift from her (until he actually opened it). Brayden really only wants toys with wheels and wings, so this cute noise maker was a big disappointment to him, and he wasn't quiet about it and was pretty rude. Poor Kayla!

Spencer sat on a gift tag and grew a tail.

We had the Quintero family over to eat pizza, listen to the Christmas story read by the missionaries and to make graham cracker houses.

Allen spent all afternoon and evening making a snow fort. It was so fun to have a ton of snow! They kept delaying school and work for a couple of hours in the morning or even cancelling it, so it was great to go back to bed or enjoy snow days with our family.

Allen built a wall and an arch in front of the snow fort, and the arch started to caved in. One of our neighbors saw it and said, "How cute Dr. Pratt. You made a heart."

Sofia, Brayden and Kayla in Allen's huge snow fort. It was such an awesome snow fort, but then the temperatures dropped during the night and it started to collapse, so it wasn't safe for the kids to play in anymore.

Trier Christmas Market 2010

The impressive Porta Nigra in Trier. It was really cold and snowy but very festive for this fun Christmas market.

Winter Dance Recital 2010

This was Kayla's costume for the 4 seasons ballet. She was part of spring.

Kayla and her best friend Delaney had so much fun dancing together! Kayla had a lot of fun in her German ballet class and the recital was really cute. They had all ages of girls performing together to tell the stories of the ballets Punicello, the 4 seasons and swan lake.
