St. George July 2011

We decided to add a trip to St. George and visit Allen's family for the 4th of July weekend, since it's only 3 hours from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  Allen was able to get a flight to Vegas so that he could be with us too.  Here's a bunch of the Pratt family at Applebee's - Lance, Parker, Margaret, Bob, Rob, Rich, Jennifer, Me, Allen, Kayla, Ellie, Landy, Brayden, Bryton, Sally and Spencer  We went to a fun play at Tuacahn on the 4th - The Little Mermaid - complete with a fabulous fireworks show.

Kayla, Ellie and Sally are featured in The Little Mermaid cutouts, and Spencer and Brayden in Grease.  Jennifer, Ellie, Kayla, Sally and me before the show.
Kayla, Ellie and Sally were able to get a picture with Prince Eric and Ariel.

Lance held Spence as he slept through the entire fireworks show, but then he was still asleep after the show, and since Allen had already left to fly back home, I had to carry him a good distance through the big parking lot back to our car.

We watched more fireworks back at Bob and Margaret's house.  Kayla, Sally and Ellie with Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Bob.

Grand Canyon Bailey Family Reunion 2011

I took a crazy, and fun, long road trip from San Antonio to the Grand Canyon for a family reunion with the kids.  Allen wasn't able to come because his endodontics residency was starting.  It was really great to see my aunts and uncles on my moms side, all of my cousins, and all of their kids.  We were so glad we made the trip!

Me and my cousin Kristy (seriously one of the nicest people I know)
Kayla with some girls to play with - Rhymning names - Haylee, Kaylee and Kayla
Spencer and Brayden made a new best friend, Tommy, and when they found out that he is Kayla's age, they mentioned it would be cool if they could trade him for Kayla

Spencer's 4th Birthday in San Antonio - June 2011

Spencer turned 4 just after we arrived back in the US.  We were still staying at the base hotel in San Antonio, so we decided go to the water park, Schlitterbahn, for his birthday.  He had donuts for breakfast, some fun presents, and a store bought cake that he chose because of the fun balloons on it.

Goodbye Germany! May 2011

We really loved Germany, and we'll miss it.  We loved the small town feel of the base, and the fact that we lived 5 minutes from it in a charming rural village.  Anytime I went to the store, Allen would ask who I saw there because it was always likely to run into someone we knew.  We lived a 1 minute walk from the forest and it's shaded, gorgeous paths.  The kids had fun neighbor friends and were able to play outside in snow and loved spending time in the backyard.  Allen had fun playing ice hockey, and even talked two co-workers into taking up the sport.  Allen shared an office with Mira, a sweet dentist from Poland.  Just before we left, I enjoyed a girls night out complete with a prank where we (me, Meg, Marion & Leilani) saran wrapped popcorn to a friend's (Julie Russo's) door.  We enjoyed our small ward in Germany and the fun friends that we met there like Chanda & Annette, Kayla's favorite church friends - Elizabeth and Theron, and Allen's good friend Doug.  I think our camera died after that when we were trying to get a picture with the Roach Family.  The last picture is of our kids with the Byington kids.  Such fun memories!

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated our 12th anniversary just before we left Germany with go carts and dinner.

Party in the USA

Kayla and her cute best friends performed a dance to the song "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus in their school talent show.  It was adorable!  We really miss Delaney, Sofia & Megan!

Mallorca - April 2011

We flew to Palma, Mallorca for the kids spring break.  The ocean water was frigid, and the pool water was only slightly better, but somehow the kids could tolerate it.  It was fun enjoy the warm weather and to see the beautiful island.

We went to the Palma aquarium and were able to see a diver feed the sharks.  He used a long spear with a big fish on the end.  Allen decided to examine a shark's teeth, Spencer took a closer look, and then Allen did too.  Watch out guys!

We visited the cathedral of Mallorca where Brayden got to try putting golf balls.  We also saw Bellver Castel where Brayden had an evil plan (or so it seems from the picture), but eventually he joined might with Allen and Spencer.
