Strawberry Picking

We went to a strawberry farm in Wittlich, and the kids loved strawberry picking.

Spencer did more strawberry eating than picking.

The stawberries that we picked were amazing. We made lots of strawberry freezer jam, and I even made some strawberry-rhubarb jam.

Chateau de Chillion

Chateau de Chillon (shee-yon) is on Lake Geneva. It was built on a rocky area a short distance into the lake, so it was naturally fortified.

The kids are eating popsicles in this picture. We have to constantly bribe them, so we can enjoy traveling.

Here you can see the bridge out to the castle.

Cute kids!

Trummelbach Falls

This is a picture outside of Trummelbach Falls. It was this amazing series of falls inside a mountain. They were lit up, and we thought it was amazing, however, our kids thought it was cold, wet and scary. The falls were also really loud.

Trummelbach Falls

This fall is next to the gondola up to Gimmelwald and Murren, but almost everywhere you look in Switzerland, you are likely to see a waterfall. Spencer even got so used to us saying waterfall that he started saying waterfall when he saw a fountain.

We took this picture from the gondola coming down from Gimmelwald.

Scenic Switzerland

Our kids had to stop at every playground and didn't totally appreciate the beauty of Switzerland, but it helped that we seemed to find a playground everywhere we went. This slide is in Gimmelwald, a completely non-touristy town where we saw a man cutting hay with a scythe (I may have that totally wrong, but it was some sort of old-fashioned tool). I wanted to take a picture of him, but Allen told me it would be rude.
We didn't quite get the best view with this shot since we just used the automatic timer, but at least we are all in the picture.

View from Gimmelwald overlook.

These are the biggest cow bells I have ever seen!

The ultimate concept of a green rooftop.

Kayla's Kindergarten Graduation

Kayla's class performed for about 45 minutes singing songs, playing musical hand bells and reciting poems about all of the letters of the alphabet.

Kayla with her best friend Meghan.

Kayla was pretty excited about her graduation and performance.

Spencer Posing

Spencer used the chair to climb up on the desk and get the camera. When I came in, he gave me the camera, posed and said "cheese."
