Spencer's Birthday Party

Spencer had a really fun Cars 2 birthday party with his friends.  On his cake he has Lightnightning MacQueen, Finn McMissle and Francesco Bernoulli per his request.  The kids colored steering wheels for their homemade box cars and pictures, went on a scavenger hunt to find the teddy bear cars, played with water balloons (their favorite part was throwing them at Allen), ate cake and ice cream and played with the super cool toy from Cheyenne - a track with cars that change color in hot and cold water.

Spencer's Busy Birthday

Spencer's birthday was a really busy day.  We moved to a house across the street which meant that we had to make a lot of trips back and forth.  In fact, we told the kids they had to move all of their toys themselves if the wanted to keep them.  Kayla had her dance recital and softball party and Brayden had his baseball party the same day.  Spencer was still able to have a breakfast donut in bed, we went out to eat at Applebee's for dinner and had ice cream at Orange Leaf.

Memorial Day in Galveston

We really love the beach! We enjoyed a nice long weekend in Galveston for Memorial Day. We really did not love how much seawead littered the beaches, but we were able to clear a spot for digging and building sand castles, and we all have water shoes, so it was still fun. We went to a beach where they were launching catamarans, and it was fun to watch them sail out and come back. We stayed in a vacation rental condo and the kids loved the pool there too. It was a very fun, family weekend.

School Parties

The kids all had a really great year!  Brayden loved his teacher, Mrs. Eikenberg.  He also got a picture with the principal, Mrs. Jensen, his teacher's aid, Mrs. Rodriguez, Mom and lots of his friends.  His closest friend from first grade was Jack.

In third grade, Kayla had Mrs. Stimpson as her teacher, although we didn't get a picture of her.  Her closest friends were Sydney and Zoie, and her fellow classmates voted her most likely to be a famous artist when she grows up.  (She was really happy about that.)

Spencer was really lucky to be able to go to pre-k every day, and it was even free through the school system since we are a military family.  His closest friends in his class were Cheyenne and Christopher.  Allen took Spencer to a birthday party for one of his classmates and Cheyenne followed him around.  Allen told me that he thought Cheyenne had a crush on Spencer, and Spencer overheard and said he thought they had a crush on each other.  Spencer really enjoyed pre-k and his fabulous teacher, Mrs. Heard.

Softball and Baseball

Kayla really loved playing softball for the first time.  Unfortunately, she had to miss a large chunk of the season because of a burst appendix.  Kayla's team was the Jaguars.

Brayden's baseball team was the Cubs.  He was definitely the biggest kid on his team.  The age range was 5-7, but most of the kids were brand new 5 year olds.  He still had a fun season.

It's a Girl!

At my ultrasound appointment, they told us that we were going to have a baby GIRL!  I made a pink cake in a dark pan with chocolate frosting and then when the kids got home from school, we cut into it to tell them the fun news.  A baby girl is on her way.  Hooray!

Fiesta and the 80's

Brayden made a shoebox float for the Texas Fiesta celebration.

Kayla and I dressed up in our 80's finest for a fun mother & daughter night.
